The Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select card currently has a strong welcome offer of 80k miles after $3500 spend. However, for the next week there is an in-flight offer the same 80k miles with only $1000 of spend required, a tremendous return of 80X miles per dollar on that spend. Even better, the $99 annual fee is waived for the first year.

You do need to enter a 6-digit flight attendant code at the top. I have heard that any 6-digit number will work, but I used the code I received on my flight last week when I applied, 712929. I was willing to burn a 5/24 slot for this offer and I was happy to receive instant approval on my application.

TL;DR: Until June 30th there is a great in-flight offer for the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select card. You can earn 80k American miles with only $1000 spend, a return of 80X per dollar.
what a stupid self-serving post. It’s a sign up bonus, not a real spend bonus and what a bizarrely deceptive way to get clicks. No wonder I’ve not previously heard of you.
No self-serving here, I earn nothing on this deal. But ask yourself why some of the “big blogs” don’t cover this deal? Maybe they want you to use their link, pay more on the minimum spend but they still earn their commission. I like to evaluate a signup bonus based on the return per dollar spent and 80X is extremely high.
I was fortunate to do a search for a $1k spend for 90k miles with first year waived. I think I will still keep the card after since I use a mix of AA and DL flights now.
Nice, is that still an active offer?
I didn’t think it was confusing at all. The first line clearly calls out a credit card offer. Thanks for sharing!
