There is a current offer for earning 25 miles per dollar for donations of at least $25, but an improved offer is now available if you use your American AAdvantage Mastercard. Making your donation with an AA card will yield 50 miles per dollar, effectively buying mile for 2 cents each while donating to a good cause.
Donations can be made until September 30th, 2026, and from $25 to $10,000.
You can also currently buy miles for AA directly, with a max bonus of 40% if you buy 150k miles or more, effectively 2.26 cents each. This Stand Up to Cancer deal is much better both in terms of earn rate and that you are making a donation vs simply buying miles.

Between Aug. 13 and Sept. 30, 2026 or when overall qualifying donations total $5,000,000, when American Airlines AAdvantage® members contribute between $25.00 and $10,000.00 USD to SU2C through StandUpToCancer.org/get-involved/american-airlines-donate-50-mile using their American Airlines AAdvantage® Mastercard® credit card issued in the USA, American Airlines, with support from Mastercard®, will award donors with 50 bonus miles for every dollar donated, up to a total promotion maximum of $5,000,000 donations received.
- Donations must be made online at StandUpToCancer.org/get-involved/american-airlines-donate-50-mile using an American Airlines AAdvantage® Mastercard® credit card issued in the USA.
- Minimum $25 USD donation required.
- Maximum miles-eligible donation amount per primary cardmember is $10,000.
- American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles do not count toward status qualification and therefore do not accrue Loyalty Points or count toward AAdvantage® tier qualification or AAdvantage® Million MilerSM status.
- Described bonus miles are expected to be posted to your AAdvantage® account by December 1, 2026.
- Donations can only be accepted in U.S. dollars.
- Donations made online at StandUpToCancer.org/get-involved/american-airlines-donate-50-mile are not refundable.
- For charitable deduction purposes, each mile is valued at 3 cents per mile.
- The receipt of miles may reduce the tax deductibility of your contribution.
- Bonus miles offer starts 8/13/2026 at 12:01am PT and ends 9/30/2026 at 11:59pm PT, or when the maximum donation to SU2C of $5,000,000 dollars using a qualifying card is met, whichever is earlier.
- In order to qualify for this offer, your American Airlines AAdvantage® Mastercard® credit card account must be open and in good standing during the promotional period. If your credit card account is closed for any reason, you may no longer be eligible for this offer.
- AAdvantage® credit cards issued outside the USA are not eligible and are not participating in this promotion.
- This offer cannot be combined with the AAdvantage® 25 American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles for every dollar donated promotion (“25 Miles Promotion”)
- American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles will only be awarded under either the 25 Miles Promotion or this 50 Miles Promotion.
