After announcing new service to St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands last month, set to begin in February of 2026, Southwest was out with more news this week on a new destination: service to St. Maarten.
As their first new international destination since 2021, St. Maarten is will begin with daily round-trip service from Orlando MCO on April 7th, 2026 and then two days later from Baltimore BWI.
Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) in St. Maarten is famous for having its runway right next to the beach with plane landings making great photo ops as it looks like the planes are going to land right on the beach itself!
Southwest also announced a new partnership with Taiwanese carrier EVA Air, connecting Southwest passengers to EVA Air flights to Asia from Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco and Chicago.
