Southwest and Visa are out with a new promo for cardholders this week. Each time you use your Southwest card for a purchase between now and November 15th, you get an entry into the contest.
Each purchase with your Southwest card during the promo period will count as an entry. It is also possible to get one entry by mail. Winners will be drawn on December 5th.
Grand Prize
3 winners will receive two tickets to the Super Bowl, flights to San Francisco, 3 nights in a hotel, VIP Super Bowl experience, $450 Visa gift card, 50,000 Southwest points, and $11,000 (presumably to pay for taxes on the value of the prize).
First Prize
2 winners will receive a 55″ 4k TV, sound system, $500 NFLShop.com gift card, $250 Visa gift card, 40,000 Southwest points and $900 (again, likely to cover taxes).
Second Prize
3 winners will receive 40,000 Southwest points. Interestingly, this is valued at $482 which suggests the points are worth just over 1.2 cents each, surprisingly accurate to their real-world value.
TL;DR: Southwest and Visa are out with a new promotion where you can earn entries to win Super Bowl tickets. This is an interesting promotion and while it won’t move my Southwest card to the top of my wallet, I may use it for a few low-dollar transactions to get entries in the contest.
