Lounge Review: The Club DFW

The Club DFW

The Club DFW is a Priority Pass lounge that is located up on the mezzanine level near gate D27, making it convenient if you plan to ultimately end up at the Capital One lounge (near D22) as I did. All gates at DFW are connected airside via the Skytrain so it is pretty quick to get to the D gates even if you are arriving or departing from another terminal.

Overall, while I appreciated getting into the lounge without a wait, I felt that this lounge was a step below most of the other The Club locations I have been to. In particular, the food offerings were extremely limited to one type of soup, some basic salad toppings, “cowboy caviar” and chips, hummus, cookies and mini pieces of sheet cake.

Having two bar areas was nice, but only the smaller bar in the outer area open to the mezzanine offered mixed drinks. There were also two soda machines, two coffee machines, as well as some pitchers of water available.

The layout of this lounge is pretty unique (and a bit maze-like) with several small areas inside as well as outside the main lounge which were open to the concourse below. These included a variety of sitting areas for eating, working or relaxing. There were a decent number of power outlets available for charging devices as well.

There were two different unisex bathrooms that had single showers which could be reserved during check in.

TL;DR: While waiting for my turn to enter the Capital One lounge in DFW, I had a chance to check out The Club Priority Pass lounge. Compared to other The Club locations I have visited, I was underwhelmed by this lounge, particularly the food options. The odd layout meant people were moving through each of the sections to get what they needed and didn’t create much of a relaxing atmosphere.

  1. I am frequent visitor to this lounge, but never a long stayer. As you noted, it’s not really built to allow one to rest, relax or really even work. It’s relatively tight spaces, limited snack offerings (crudite, cookies, white rice is often available, some sodas). I might pick up a tea bag and cookie, but really, wouldn’t go out of the way to visit, unless you really want a comp drink. DFW really lacks any good airline lounges, with AMEX and Capital One, I think leading the pack. So excited by Chase’s annoucement they are bring Sapphire lounge to DFW, and know they have a major corporate campus in DFW, so hoping for a larger one.

    1. The Capital One lounge is MUCH nicer and although it usually comes with a longer wait, you can join the queue from the app. I will be posting a review of this lounge soon.
